Liberation

The concept of liberation is based upon another concept of an ever unadulterated, ever free, ever ideal, ever conscious spiritual entity in man called soul. According to Swami Vivekananda this soul is the Real Man as against the body-mind compound which is only the obvious man. The relation between the real and apparent men has been wonderfully described through an allegory: Know the soul to be the head of the chariot and the body the chariot. Consider the intelligence the charioteer, and the mind the reins. The senses, they say, are the horses, and their roads are the logical objects. The wise call Him the enjoyer when He is united with the body, senses and intellect.
